The 1950s: Starting with a storage ring

If I travel back to the 1950s and only have a 1-cubic-meter storage ring, what should I do? Just when I was in distress, an even more terrifying thing happened. My parents were both killed right before my eyes, and there was a 4-year-old sister in my arms. Was this the start of a decisive move?
